Welcome
to The Keep Coming Back Club
CLUB MOTTO
People helping people through fun, recreation, and support.
THE HISTORY AND PURPOSE OF THE CLUB
The Keep Coming Back Club is a private social club. Founded in
1995 by a few men and women who realized a need in the Lake Orion
Community for a safe, clean, and sober place for people to gather
for fellowship. The club is not affiliated with any twelve step
organization; Its goal is to aid and assist recovering people
and to provide a safe atmosphere for good fellowship and understanding
among its members and guests. Membership is not restricted to
recovering people; anyone interested in having fun in a drug and
alcohol free environment is welcome.
CLUB ACTIVITIES
The Keep Coming Back Club will provide space for twelve step groups
such as Alcoholics Anonymous, Narcotics Anonymous, A.C.O.A., etc.
to hold meetings. We will provide games and entertainment, beverage
and snack counter, bus trips and weekend excursion trips.
We will also be involved in fund raising for our club and other
worthy organizations,
such as the Senior Center.
CLUB VISION
Our vision is to provide an opportunity for recovery to everyone
affected by the disease of addiction and co-dependency. We also
hope to deter people from
addictions through awareness and support.
CLUB MISSION
Our mission is to provide information and education to our community,
in the work place, schools, hospitals, churches, and treatment
centers. We are here to support recovery for the addicted person
and their family.
What
is the Difference between the KCBC and the AA and NA Groups?
What is the Keep Coming Back Club (KCBC)?
The Keep Coming Back Club is a non-profit social club founded
in 1995 by local people who recognized the community's need for
a clean and sober place to gather for fun and fellowship. K.C.B.C.
is not A.A. or N.A. but provides space for 12 step programs.
The club is totally operated by volunteers, (The club has no payroll)
all income goes to paying bills and building maintenance to keep
the doors open.
How is the Club separate from AA and NA?
AA's an NA's traditions state that the groups can not be affiliated
with any outside causes, and worldwide group wisdom suggests that
no group should own and maintain a facility. For that reason,
a group of recovering people established this place to give AA
and NA a low-cost space to hold meetings.
What does all this mean to you?
Perhaps not much. But for those of us who found sobriety in this
place, it means an awful lot Many who make Lake Orion Downtown
their home group have supported the KCBC for over ten years. They
have contributed time to keep the doors open, to keep this place
in good repair, and to run social events so there is a place to
go on weekends. They have contributed financially by purchasing
monthly memberships, sales of snacks, beverages, dinners and your
generous donations. Even the change you put in the games are appreciated,
recognizing that this place only exists because members help ensure
that the bills can be paid.
Please consider joining the KCBC.
We desperately need your help and support. A monthly membership
costs only $8, or an annual membership is $80. A 50% discount
to seniors over 62 or to the disabled. For the cost of a movie
or fast food meal, you can help keep the doors open for another
month.
